Welcome Scott!

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at Mavericks last Friday, we had a packed house and overall it was a great night.  Jerk Factory and Crimson Sunset both put on awesome shows.  You can check out new pictures from the show in our Media section.

For those of you who couldn’t make it to the show, it’s time to formally announce that Widow’s Walk has finally found their singer!  We’re very happy to welcome Scott Bailey into the group.  Scott came aboard only a few weeks ago, but despite the short notice he joined us on stage for one song on Friday night.  His performance on Queensrÿche’s “The Mission” brought the house down and is only a taste of what’s to come!  We’ve already started work on incorporating Scott into our original material, so stay tuned for more!  You can check out Scott’s bio in the Band section.</p>

We have a new full length video from Progtoberfest that is just awaiting a final audio mix, we should have it online shortly.  We are also set to enter the studio before Christmas to start working on the next batch of recordings, so keep checking back for new media!

(P.S.: Some of you might have noticed a rather odd-looking bicycle at Mavericks the other night — it belonged to our friend Richard, who has taken most of the awesome photos you’ll find here on our site.  You can see more of his “Tallbike” as well as other bizarre contraptions on his website.)

Back Online

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Welcome back to the site, sorry we were gone so long! We had a serious server crash and basically had to reconstruct all of the content on the site from scratch, but we’re back in business now. After such a long absence we figured some new Media was in order, so we’ve added a full length Agenda rehearsal/concert video that our friend Chuck Ho from Casse-Tête produced for us. Thanks again Chuck!

We’ve been working hard on new material for the past few months and have a lot of new stuff that is nearing completion. We’re hoping to set up a show in the next couple of months, stay tuned for more info on that. Plans are also in motion for a sequel to last year’s Progtoberfest, more news on that once things are confirmed, it’s shaping up to be quite a show :)

Snow’s Night Out

Monday, December 19th, 2005

Thanks to everyone who dug themselves out from Ottawa’s first blizzard of the year for the show on Friday night. Both Casse-Tête and To No End put on awesome performances that helped make for a high-voltage night of prog and metal. \m/

We also wanted to say thanks to Mark at CKCU’s Infinite Ceiling radio show for playing “The Agenda” on Thursday night, Mark runs a great show every week that you can also download from their website.

The time has come now for us to take our cue from the great Canadian grizzly and go into hibernation for a few months… we’ve got lots of new material just waiting to be explored and we’re looking forward to a promising vocalist audition in January. We’ll also be adding some more media in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Our next gig has been confirmed for December 16th at Mavericks, alongside prog-rockers Casse-Tête and local metallers To No End.  More info on show time and ticket price will be coming soon.

We’ve got some great photos and video from our first show last month at Mavericks, we’re hoping to get some of that online for you as soon as possible.  Also, special thanks to Chuck Ho from Casse-Tête who put together an awesome video for the Agenda demo recording for us, keep an eye out for some clips from that too.

We now have a mailing list that you can subscribe to by entering your e-mail address on the right.  This will be the best way from now on to be automatically notified about Widows Walk news.  We also have a new Comments section where you can leave pearls of wisdom for the band :)

Progtoberfest 2K5 Aftermath

Thursday, October 27th, 2005

Thanks to everyone who came out to Mavericks last night to help make the inaugural Progtoberfest, as well as our debut show, a great success!  We had a great time playing to a packed house at Mavericks, and Casse-Tête and Year Of The Gone both put on awesome shows as well.  We’d like to give a special thanks to Gary Lauzon (Casse-Tête bassist and co-host of the La Villa Strangiato radio show) for getting this gig off the ground!

It sounds like we got some great video from the show too so we’ll hopefully be updating the Media section with some more bits and bites in the very near future.

We are hoping to set up another show in December, and we’ll also be setting up a mailing list really soon, once subscribed you’ll get notified of any interesting Widow’s Walk news.
